Obviously my career path is about as circuitous as Mulhulland Dr. The questions that hang like half-dead branches are in the way of my feeling there is a way to fulfillment, a way to success, a place to bask in the sun where the shadowy times of life are conducive to curiosity and the bright places bring satisfaction and joy.

2009 marked the beginning, or rather a continuation of my creativity, which was ignored through no fault of any single person. It will be ruined and decapitated if I don’t follow the urge to create. To bring words, sounds and color together, joined in divine meaning by one being is one of the several heavens I hope to witness on this Earth.

With grant money, kids could be supported at a much better price outside of the states. They would learn more, being deprived of the comforts of the States, forced to adapt to cultural and lingual cues of their temporary homes. It is taking studying abroad to another level which is not superficial, is not connected to credit. It is directly linked to survival, exploration and comfort in a new environment.

Money, in fact may not be as big of a problem because we are not talking about imports or exports, simply exchange. What must be done is equalize expectations from host countries’ governments, that the goal is to give youth a chance to survive outside their home country, giving their home country and host country an equal chance to benefit from exchange.

The program would emphasize cooperation, learning, social work, sharing skills, sharing culture and making friends. The long-term goals of course are never clear when you are dealing with kids, but I genuinely believe the goals can be reached if the team is confident in its plans.

We all talk about widespread failure of schools, but we don’t talk about widespread failure to increase positive interaction between kids on the international level, where education will become most important for the creation of an American alliance which unifies the Bolivarian dream with manifest destiny.
